Our organization is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that relies on individual or corporate donations.
We are a 501(c) (3) organization and accept donations and bequests of any amount. Your contributions are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
We accept the following types of donations:
- Quality used books (we can do pickups for large book donations)
- Cash or check donations
Donating books? Please review our Material Donation Guidelines. We gladly accept these on Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturdays, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., and by special appointment for large donations.

Everyday Book Sales!
Find a large selection of bargain books, magazines, movies, and music at the Friends’ Book Sale section at the Richmond Main Branch Library, and the Friends’ Book Carts at the West Side and Bayview Branch Libraries. Quality items are on sale for $1 or $0.50. Please pay for items at the reference desk.
